Angelique N. Adams, Ph.D., is the Director of Global Technology Development in the Smelting Center of Excellence at Alcoa. Dr. Adams holds a bachelor’s degree in chemical engineering and doctorate in Fuel Science from Penn State. She has over 16 years of experience in aluminum manufacturing and has held roles in operations, technical support, and research and development. Since 2012, she has lead the development and execution of the innovation strategy for Alcoa’s smelting operations, managing a $200MM technology portfolio and a team of scientists and engineers located across the globe. In 2014, Dr. Adams was named one of six Rising Stars by STEMConnector.org a consortium of over 110 companies, academic institutions and government entities concerned with education and workforce development in Science, Technology, Engineering and Math.
Dr. Adams is actively involved in her community and is passionate about children and STEM education. She currently serves on the Board of Directors for the Boys and Girls Club of the Tennessee Valley. Angelique lives in Knoxville, Tennessee with her husband, and two children.
